It's Christmas, already?

HEY DOLLS!

I can't believe it's Christmas already. 

I don't know about you but whenever Christmas comes along 

I often like to remember the other Christmases 

and wonder about any changes that this year has brought about.

 

My life has gone through a major change this year. 

I got pregnant, and now hold Aicha in my arms. 

So this year has been dominated by my pregnancy.

I quit my teaching job - because of my pregnancy, 

and I've been on full blown blogging mode 

to keep me sane. 

I have also been setting up a vanity area for filming my youtube videos, 

which has been super fun.

Being pregnant was a whole new experience, 

and it had its ups and downs (darn you hormonal days)

but it was dominated by a whole lot of ups. 

Aicha is now 9 days old, 10 tomorrow on Christmas Day. 

she's a cutie pie, and she's already grown out of her smallest baby grow. 

She's the cutest thing ever when she sneezes and makes my day when she randomly smiles. 

I have the best boyfriend ever, and he makes me the happiest girl on Earth everyday. 

I am so happy to start a family together

and it's something I wouldn't have thought about last Christmas. 

I love how happy he makes me and I couldn't be prouder than I am of him. 

Since last year our families have also grown closer and 

it's nice to know your family has your back when you need them. 

I'm just so thankful for everything I have this Christmas, 

I'm the happiest I've ever been and I wish you all a Happy Christmas - 

May you spend it with the people you love 

and I send you all my warm wishes this Christmas.

39 WEEKS! 9 months! 1 week away from due date :D

HEY DOLLS!

I can't believe it's almost over. 

Well technically - this whole journey could still take on 16 more days. 

If you've never been pregnant / don't know anyone who has been pregnant that close -

 I'll fill you in how it works.

The due date is the 40th week away from the date of the first day of your period. 

That is merely a guideline, a lot of women don't give birth on their due date, 

but there's still a possibility you could. 

It is most common for women to give birth during the two weeks prior to the due date, 

or after the due date. 

If you're giving birth naturally, that is, and have no complications, 

because for C-sections you can set up a date. 

And even if you have serious complications like high blood pressure or baby's too big - 

they can induce your labour. 

But if you don't have any of those issues, 

doctors try to let you start labour on your own. 

If you don't - you exceed the due date by 10 days

 and then they put you in hospital for delivery where they induce your labour.

So unless Aicha decides to come out, she'll stay in till the 23rd. 

But there's still a possibility she'd want to come out before that. 

I really am looking forward to meeting her - 

and I know I've said it a million times, 

but everytime she moves is a constant reminder

 I have a full-grown human being ready to be born in my belly.

How far along? 

39! Nine months, baby!

Total weight gain/measurements:

A little over 62 if I remember correctly.

Maternity clothes:

I hate them, I just wear loose fitting type clothings and amped the sizes a bit.

Stretch marks: 

Nothing new. But I do have some reallyy horrible ones on my thighs.

Sleep:

Well, funnily enough sleep has been better,

 I've kind of adapted to sleeping as a pregnant woman now,
but I don't sleep more than 8 hours straight. 

I sometimes take naps, but not that frequently.

Best moment this week:

We had our doctor's appointment, and he told us that the day before the lady he examined a pregnant lady, 

and she texted him that morning to tell him she gave birth. 

And I started getting nervous and excited at the same time!

Miss anything? 

Walking up and down the stairs without losing my breath, walking has become quite the task,too.

Movement: 

As usual. She's quite a hyper baby, and I bet she loves the attention. 

But honestly I thank god for having a baby who's this hyper because it puts my mind to rest that she's ok. 

Food cravings: 

Mcdonalds and junk food, 

but nothing's changed.

Anything making you queasy or sick?

Overeating, cigarettes and fish.

Gender:

Oh she's a girllll ! :D

Symptoms: 

Pelvic pain, Back pain, Sharp pains from dilation, 

Loss of breath.

Belly button in or out? 

All stretched out.

Happy or moody most of the time: 

Happy - but I do get rather snappy at times. 

Looking forward to: 

 Our delivery day ! Hopefully it happens soon!

As a follow up of my HOW I BLOG post (which you can check out HERE),
this is the youtube-related one.

YOUTUBE

#1 I accumulate products for empties videos

I don't throw packagings away, I keep them for my empties video.

#2 I pre-film videos in bulk whenever I have the time. 

Let's face it - I don't always have the time to film and I don't always feel like it. 

So whenever I feel like filming I film up to 3 videos per day. Normally 2, but anywho.

#3 I change my clothes and lipsticks so no one would know I'm filming on the same day. 

I have had people commenting that they know I've filmed on the same day because of the same top and makeup. So I try to trick people into thinking I don't by changing my clothes and lipstick.
I'm that evil.

#4 I film in bulk when I know I won't have the time to film. 

I filmed a ton of videos when I knew I only had like two days left in which I could film. 

I'm in the process of moving so I can't film videos at the moment. Which is tough - because I have so many ideas and all. I'm running out of videos actually. 

#5 I film in natural daylight - and switch on all the white light in the room. 

So far - that's the best lighting I can come up with. 

#6 I edit using Windows Movie Maker 

It's so simple to use! Gosh I love this program sooo much!

#7 I'm using a digital Canon Camera to film / take photos at the moment. 

I used to use a Sony digital camera and a Sony video camera for videos. 

 

COMING SOON ON MY CHANNEL !

 So as I've said in my previous post,
I will be posting much much more videos on my youtube channel.
I will probably tone down on the posts,
and will start posting more than one video every other day, up to 6 videos a week, actually.
I have been setting up my new vanity area, and it's been really exciting
because I have the most supportive boyfriend ever and he's doing
everything to try to help me set up in the best way possible.

I have 80+ videos on my to do list and it's going to be a blast filming new videos
in my new vanity area.
I even got myself a professional tripod, and a better camera so the quality of the videos
will improve I hope.

Everything in my vanity area is going to be designed for my makeup videos and makeup applications,
from lighting, to furniture to storage and what not, so I'm excited to share it all with you dolls!

38 WEEKS TODAY!

HEY DOLLS!

I am 38 weeks along - which means I'm two weeks away from my due date !
Time is honestly passing by real quickly,
even though everyone kept telling me it'll pass real slow at the end.
She could come any second now,
because from what I read most women give birth during the two week period before their due date or till they're induced. 
I honestly can't wait for her to come along though, I'm dying to meet her
and hold her in my arms.

How far along? 

38 weeks and it still hasn't quite kicked in she'll be in my arms real soon!

Total weight gain/measurements:

I haven't weighed myself I'm pretty sure I'm round the 61 kilo mark now.

Maternity clothes:

Again, I haven't worn any throughout my pregnancy - I just wore things that are loose 

and that I feel comfortable in, and wore things that are 1-2 sizes bigger.

Stretch marks: 

Nothing new - but I do have some on my thighs and bust. THEY SUCK.

Sleep:

I haven't been sleeping all that well. Aside from the frequent bathroom visits, I have been having 

quite strong pelvic pains, but I know it's perfectly normal at this point.

Best moment this week:

She had hiccups, and I find them so cute!

Miss anything? 

Being able to sleep comfortably, but I can live with it.

Movement: 

ALL THE TIME. I still haven't managed to capture her motions on camera though.

Food cravings: 

I haven't had the best of appetites lately, 

I have been having heartburn 

and it's annoying more than anything.

I haven't been fancying meat all that much lately, either.

Anything making you queasy or sick?

Cigarettes and Fish, again. My sense of smell is much stronger at this point, and I can smell cigarettes from metres away.

Gender:

She's definitely a girl. My little doll - I'm already buying her bows and hair stuff :D

Symptoms: 

Exhaustion, back pain, pelvic pain, 

loss of appetite and heartburn.

Honestly, they're not as bad as they sound though.

Belly button in or out? 

Still in - but it has really stretched out. I don't think it will pop out.

Happy or moody most of the time: 

Mainly happy, I do get moody from time to time, 

but it's quite rare these days.

Looking forward to: 

Finally meeting little Aicha!

What I'd Tell My Pre-Pregnant Self.

HEY DOLLS!

Over the time I've realised 

how much my mental image of being pregnant was far different 

than what I expected. 

I think it's quite normal to have misconceptions about pregnancy 

especially about how things actually feel like. 

It's a huge change in life to get pregnant, 

and I don't think anyone can prepare enough for it. 

There are physical, social, relationship changes that happen 

and together with hormones it can be quite tough to digest. 

I'm not saying this to dishearten anyone - 

because there are plenty of good stuff in the mixture.

But if you've ever seen that film - What to expect when you're expecting - 

(which is one amazing funny film!) - 

you'll get the gist of what I'm saying. 

Every pregnancy is different,

 and if I could give myself advice and some tips on what I should have expected when I got pregnant, 

the following points would be it. 

37 weeks pregnant

There are really nice things that come along,
and it's a lovely experience -

but it's not all unicorns and flowers and roses, 

there are some tough times too. 

#1. Be it whether you have an unplanned or planned pregnancy, 

you'll soon find out that a baby is the happiest of news. You're growing a human being, 

who will probably look and act like you. That little human being is your legacy, your life.

#2. Feeling your baby move is weird but amazing at the same time. It's freaky and really fun at the same time. You won't believe it's a real baby, still. The baby will be your number one entertainment in your belly. You'll never feel alone.

#3. Once you're pregnant, you've lost control over your whole body. Your energy, your blood pressure, your immunity. No matter what you do, it's not totally up to you anymore. If you need to rest, rest. If you need to stop working, stop. No one will hand you a gold metal for trying to do what your body doesn't want to do.

#4. You're going to get hormonal. And you'll cry like a baby at times. Yes, it's like having your period for 9 months. Pretty much. Only, the hormones will only kick in every now and then. You'll feel hysterical this second, and oh-so-tearful the next.

#5. You'll learn everything you'll need to know about pregnancy and baby, don't you worry. By the time you'll need to know it all, you will. Don't freak out, you'll have plenty of time to learn.

#6. Don't let people get to you. Tell them to cut the crap when they're being overprotective. Yes you can slather lotions on your body, and you can put on perfume and it won't harm your baby.

#7. You'll have to sacrifice a lot, it's worth it, and won't feel like a sacrifice. Because it's not all about you anymore, and that will kick in once you hear your baby's heartbeat the first time. You can't eat some food, you can't drink some drinks, you can't go clubbing anymore. I swear it won't feel like a sacrifice, because it's all for the little one.

#8. Your body will get big and huge. You're skinny, I know. But it doesn't matter. Your belly is going to get big and you're going to pack on the weight. It might be tough to digest, and the changes will get to you. But it's perfectly normal.

#9. You might get stretchmarks. Let's put it this way. Accept that you will get stretchmarks,
because if you think you won't get any and actually get some, you will be very very upset.
Think of it as a package type of deal, you got pregnant, you get stretchmarks. And it's okay.
Halle Berry has them too. She's over 40 and still hot.

 #10.  Last but not least. Pregnancy might come with a few bits and bobs that will upset you.
You might get tired, you might have low blood pressure or get backaches,
or hemorrhoids, or a C-section scar, or heartburn.
BUT let's face it - unless you want to have 10 babies,
you won't be pregnant for that long,
and you are going to spend very little in your life being pregnant.
Enjoy it and whenever your baby kicks -
remember how amazing the female body can be.
